All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Kogi, led by former Governor Yahaya Bello, have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for second terms, declaring that the president will not need to campaign in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement rally, held at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja, brought together top party leaders, local executives, women, and youth groups, all pledging total loyalty to Tinubu and Ododo.
Bello described Tinubu as a leader committed to Nigeria’s progress, noting that his economic reforms were stabilising the country.
He said, “Kogi is for President Bola Tinubu; nobody can unseat him. There is no vacancy in Aso Rock.”
He dismissed opposition mergers as “futile,” urging Nigerians to rally behind the president and support Ododo’s administration in the state, which he said deserved a second term.
Governor Ododo, in his remarks, promised Tinubu 99 per cent of Kogi’s votes in 2027, assuring that the state remains firmly behind the president. He thanked Tinubu for federal appointments given to Kogi indigenes and praised the Renewed Hope Initiative for improving lives nationwide.
Ododo also appreciated his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, describing him as a mentor and “star leader” of the APC.
Kogi APC Chairman, Abdullahi Bello, reaffirmed the party’s unity and support for both Tinubu and Ododo, commending the achievements of the past and current administrations.
Chairman of the Organising Committee, Senator Smart Adeyemi, lauded Tinubu as a true democrat with over three decades of consistent commitment to national development, calling on Kogi residents to sustain their support.
The event ended with a unanimous endorsement of Tinubu and Ododo for re-election by all APC stakeholders in the state.
