The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, was recently seen in London. His appearance on Wednesday comes just days after reports suggested he had been flown abroad due to health concerns.
Edun was observed at the O’DA Art Gallery booth during the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair held at Somerset House, London. He was given a tour of the exhibition Lines of Spirit, which features works by African artists Simon Ojeaga, Paul Majek, and Afeez Onakoya, highlighting themes of form, rhythm, and transcendence in contemporary abstraction.
In an Instagram post, the gallery shared that Edun was warmly received as he viewed the installations, noting that he appeared composed and in good spirits, dressed in a long coat and scarf.
“It was a pleasure to welcome the Honourable Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, to the O’DA Art Gallery booth… We had the privilege of walking him through our presentation,” the gallery wrote.
The minister’s visit to London comes just days after speculation over his health, which has been widely discussed in the media in recent days.
