Nigerian troops have apprehended two individuals suspected of providing logistical support and drugs to Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in the Ngala Local Government Area, Borno State.
This information was shared on Sunday in a post by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama on X.
Makama revealed that sources informed him about the arrests, which occurred during a series of stop-and-search and counter-terrorism operations along the Gamboru–Wulgo road as part of Operation Desert Sanity IV.
The report states that 24 Task Force Brigade soldiers, along with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, captured an individual named Abba Wakil, 18 years old. He was found in possession of two jerricans containing condemned engine oil and 100 pieces of quick patch material.
“A preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect, a native of Wulgo Village in Ngala LGA, was trying to deliver the items to terrorists in the area,” according to the source.
The security expert added that the troops also apprehended another suspect, 18-year-old Bunu Ali. He was caught with 110 units of cannabis sativa while trying to supply these illicit substances to terrorists.
Makama stated that the two suspects are presently being held in military custody for additional investigation.
