Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA), a prominent businessman and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for the 2024 Ondo State governorship election, has passed away at his residence in Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos.
As CEO of Benshore Maritime and Clog Oil Systems and President of WeAfrica Group, Otunba Akingboye was known not only for his business achievements but also for his meaningful contributions to society. Over the years, he supported educational initiatives, championed community development projects, and provided opportunities for young entrepreneurs, earning a reputation as a committed philanthropist and advocate for positive social change.
He is survived by his wives, children, grandchildren, and siblings. Funeral arrangements and further details will be announced in due course.
The announcement was made by his Personal Assistant and Media Adviser, Oyeniyi Iwakun, who described him as “a man of unwavering integrity, an accomplished businessman, and a leader who contributed immensely to the development of society.”
